TV for Everybody

If you know me, you know my love of the wierd...the quirky...the outright stupid.

I love the stuff you can't make up.

I love stuff that just makes you shake your head.

I love put downs like this:
"Good luck with your suitcases not catching on fire!" (whatever the hell that meant Emmy!)

And it is with that deep love that I share with you my joy with the new television season....

I am in love with the new show "Pushing Daisies"

That being said - it made me throw up in my mouth just a little bit...

You see, Pushing Daisies made me think of the short lived series "Wonderfalls" which was a little show about a girl in a Niagara Falls gift shop who the souveniers talked to.

That made me think of a number between five and seven.

That made me think of novel ways to make money if you don't want a job.

That made me think of online live porn.

That made me throw up a little.

But back to the show...

If you haven't watched already, you must start. But before you do, you must go to ABC.com and watch the two you have missed. Both the Pie-lette and the second show lay the groundwork for what you are watching.

Basically, Ned touches people, brings them back to life for one minute, finds out who killed them, then touches them again and they stay dead. But it is much more than that.

It is what Lemony Snicket would be like if his characters ever had a good day.

It is Willy Wonka without that freakish boat scene.

It it Tim Burton, and Danny Elfman without Jack and Sally.

It is the best show of the new fall season...

Watch it. Or Else. It's on in 1 Day, 8 hours and 53 minutes!

Oh yeah, I will be dedicating this blog to television for the next few posts. Unless I see something stupid in the meantime.

We're watching it too!! It's the first regular show that Andy & I have watched together in YEARS! I heart the narrator! We shake our heads trying to decide why we love it as we're laughing until we're crying! The dandelion car, oh LORD! The way Ned fixed his car, awww.... Crazy quirky and so NOT my typical style, but I'm hooked! One of only 4 must sees that I have this season!

I LOVE IT LOLA!!!
Me and Hillary have watched since the premiere and it is probably my new favorite show.
And I said the same thing....It's Lemony Snicket meets Tim Burton. :o)
It's fantastic! I also said after the first week that I didn't think it would last because it's so quirky....but all the reviews I've read about it have all been great so it may actually have staying power!! =)

I absolutely LOVE this show! And LaRelle isn't a dirty, rotten liar. She really did say that it is Lemony Snicket meets Tim Burton :) I read something today about the ten new shows that will not be cancelled and this show was on the list!

i am waiting for the dvd's. I had my heart broken by cancellation now 4 seasons in a row, so i refuse to watch anything this many people i like say is good. already convinced that dirty sexy money will be off the air before i know it because it is THAT GOOD. so i can't take another blackdonnellysstudio60reunionplaymakerssportsnight debacle right now, i am getting old (just not as old as kerri, haha)and my heart can't take it.

Holly: Bitch.

Anyway - it's hard for me to invest in new shows for several reasons:

1. Our schedule - it changes week to week, and I never know when I'll be around to watch something. I'm not getting Tivo.. I don't know if I need another remote.

2. Sports Night - Dead Like Me. Loved both of these shows, then 2 seasons in for no reason. Done....

3. I do like watching them on DVD. I think 24 and Lost were way better that way. Why? Cause I could watch 3 or 12 in a row.

I started watching the first show - then got bored. :0(

Wednesday night is too good with Criminal Minds and CSI NY.

But I fully encourage you to keep blogging! They are fun to read!
